Why This Matters
When reading struggles, everything else follows.
Across our communities, too many young girls and learners are moving through school without strong foundational reading skills. Not because they cannot learn, but because they have not been given enough opportunities to fall in love with reading.
And when reading struggles, everything else follows. Confidence dips. Curiosity shrinks. Learning becomes something to endure instead of something to enjoy.
But when a child learns to read, and to love reading, everything opens up.
Reading builds imagination. It strengthens understanding. It unlocks education.
She Reads Kenya exists to nurture that love early through community reading spaces, peer mentorship, and remedial support, so every young girl can see new possibilities for her life.

Through community reading spaces, peer-to-peer mentorship, remedial learning, and the libraries we set up across Kenya, we create opportunities for young girls and children to engage with books in ways that feel personal and empowering.

What We Do
